Debbie Mama’s Mission
Debbie Birdsall’s Christian journey began early in life. But life wasn’t easy for her. Through many trials, and by the determination of her will, she fell away from God many times before fully committing herself to the will of the Holy Spirit through sanctification in 2010.
Following sanctification, Debbie co-directed Celebrate Recovery (CR) – a Christian 12-step recovery group – for three years. Through that group, she grasped a deeper understanding of addictions and the pain we all face. Her story of pain, addictions, and hope, speak to the truth of God’s love, mercy, and grace. You can read her full story here.
Debbie’s mission boldly and fearlessly declares the truth in love to help people make Christ-like changes to their lives. At the age of 16, when her home-church pastor asked if anyone felt the Holy Spirit moving them toward the mission field, she stood with two other young people. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until thirty years later that Debbie chose to be obedient to that call by moving to South Korea with her husband to serve in an English church. She also recognized God’s call to be a counselor at age 24 and an evangelist at age 45, spreading the Good News to those who have forgotten. It is this 3-way calling which gives her a unique perspective on life and the Good News which she shares around the globe.
Debbie currently resides in South Korea with her husband, Joe. Their son attends university nearby. Their two daughters and one granddaughter live on the east coast of America.
Core Values
I Am a Christian:
United with all believers in proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus Christ, I believe in divine love, which God offers all people. He restores our relationship with Him through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ. By making peace with God, I believe that He expects us to make peace with one another as well. We should love one another as God has loved us and forgive each other as God has forgiven us. I believe that our purpose together is to exemplify the character of Christ. The Bible is the primary source of spiritual Truth confirmed by reason, tradition, and experience.
I Believe in Holiness:
Through a divine act of His grace, God completed the work of entire sanctification in me. Because of this, He removed my carnal nature. I no longer fight the war of sin in my body and mind (Romans 8:1-2, 5). In this total surrender to God, I am moving toward the perfection to which God has called me. Now I walk in victory and peace.
I Am Missional:
I have been called by the Lord to preach the Word of God to those who do not know Jesus. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), given by Jesus Christ, is the call to all Christians to speak words of Truth to the lost – those who do not know Jesus. I encourage believers toward Christian maturity through discipleship and mentoring. The mission of the Church – and thereby my mission – is to minister to the whole person. God has created us as whole persons, and it is our mission to be ministers of God’s love to people as whole persons – body, mind, soul, and spirit.
